연구분야 및 대표연구업적

콜로이드 화학법을 이용하여 다양한 종류의 나노입자를 합성하며, 나노입자와 인체 조직과의 상호작용을 밝히고, 나노입자의 물리/화학적 특성을 바이오에 응용하는 연구를 하고 있습니다. 특히, MRI/CT와 같은 의학 영상 장비를 이용한 분자영상과 약물전달 시스템에 관한 연구를 주로 수행합니다.

  • MRI 조영제

    MRI로 활용되는 자성 나노입자의 크기, 조성, 표면개질을 통한 고성능 MRI 조영제를 개발하고 있습니다. MRI 조영제는 암진단, 혈관조영, 줄기세포 관찰, 이식된 췌도의 면역거부 반응 등을 모니터링 하는데에 사용됩니다.

  • CT 조영제

    현재 사용되는 요오드 계열 조영제의 한계를 뛰어넘는 나노입자 기반의 CT 조영제에 관한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 원자량이 큰 물질이 주로 쓰이는 CT 조영제의 특성을 고려 나노입자의 안정성을 검증하고 암진단 및 혈관 조영 등에 응용하며 CT의 단점을 극복하기 위한 다기능성 CT 조영제 개발에 관한 연구를 진행합니다.

  • 약물전달

    정상조직과는 다른 암조직의 특이성을 이용한 약물전달 시스템에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 나노입자의 다기능성을 활용하여 진단과 치료가 동시에 가능한 테라노스틱 나노입자에 관심을 두고 있습니다.
